William Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
Globe Theatre: A Midsummer Night’s Dream On Wednesday the 15th September, a group of eager English students were accompanied to Shakespeare’s Globe to watch the comedy, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The students lunched on the bank of the Thames, taking in all the sights and the atmosphere on the South Bank. A few students even engaged the services of a ‘Poet 4 Hire’ who created them a literary memento before the performance had even started. Once inside the Globe, they were treated to a two-hour spectacle; a traditional play with a modern carnivalesque twist which provided plenty of laughs and even the opportunity for a bit of heckling. After the performance, many of the students (and the staff ) commented on how much they enjoyed it and how funny it was. One student said “That was the best school trip ever, by far".
